Michael Meehan and Sean Armstrong

Few things drive passions in Ireland like the GAA

The pride people take in their county, indeed in their “parish” is a sight to behold.

No matter where you travel in the world you will see Irish people wearing their county jersies with pride.

The people who play the game do so with such passion that its easy to forget that they do so as amateurs. They play their hearts out for the love of the game.

Then they go back on Monday to their careers

Michael Meehan is a trainee teacher after leaving a career in finance while Sean Armstrong is a qualified secondary school teacher.

Sean has just returned from New York where he flew in on Saturday and out again on Sunday, just to play one game. It means that much to people
